We have had over 100 artists and bands inquire about the Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage with over 80 artists interested enough to download the application. By the deadline (April 3rd) we had received approximately 30 applications! This, of course, makes our job of selecting hard, but choice is good. Keep an eye on your mailboxes!
The Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage is being run by people who love local bands and want to support them and what they are called to do.
The Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage is going to be at the Skate Park, outdoors.
The Uprise Festival may be attended by several thousand people - possibly up to 5,000, but the Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage is a side stage.
We have a total of seven (7) hours of operable stage time with a one hour intermission near the end of our allotted time. Tentatively we have in mind slots for 6 to 9 artists. We start at 10am and finish the Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage at 6pm.
Everything related to the Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage is being run by volunteers.
Every piece of equipment used for the Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage is being borrowed from one ministry, business or another. This includes the sound system, stage, forklift, talent, etc.
The artists who play the Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage will essentially be paying to play. You can say it a few different ways, some sounding better, some worse... but it boils down to paying to get into the festival. Current ticket prices are $20 and will be $25 at the gate. We are looking for donors to help with costs, but we are making no promises and at this time there is no one committed to covering the band entry or travel expenses.
The good part: Some local show supporters are considering the Roxtreme Artist Showcase Stage their own little mini festival within a festival. This area has a very strong local music scene and it may make good sense for you to play and sell your merchandise. You are encouraged (but not required) to hang out with us and get to know fans and members from other bands.
